Bamboo Barrier Sizing Guide:

Step 1: Choose Barrier Height

Bamboo Barrier Sizing Guide

  • The height that is best for your application will vary by the type and age of bamboo that you are planning to contain.

  • To determine the depth of the bamboo barrier required, dig down to the side of the plant and measure the root depth.

  • The height of barrier should extend approximately 6 inches deeper than the deepest roots on the plant.

  • The barrier must be installed so that the top of the barrier extends 2” above the soil’s finished grade. This allows for bamboo rhizome’s to be noticed and clipped if they attempt to hop over the barrier.

  • Most bamboo plantings will be sufficiently contained by a 24” barrier, although mature bamboo can require a barrier depth of up to 48”
